What I’ve Done

I skipped my Happy Friday post this week. Not really on purpose, but Sarah and I have been mucho busy getting the house together for various birthday parties and me finishing the nursery for Baby NER (Nathan). I’ll get back to Happy Friday next week.

This post is another video/song/lyric deal. Linkin Park is a favorite band of mine. Driving guitars, solid lyrics, it’s all good. One song in particular has hit me lately.

What I’ve Done

I hear it on the radio every now and then. Just tonight, I looked it up on YouTube and searched for the lyrics. Personally, I think it’s pretty powerful. The video reminds me of what we did at our Good Friday service, only WAY better and reading through the lyrics, you can see this could be a spiritual song. One of the last lines reads:

I’ll start again
And whatever pain may come
Today this ends
I’m forgiving what I’ve done

I’ll make that HE’S forgiven what I’ve done..

Let mercy come and wash away… What I’ve done

Here it is:

In this farewell
There’s no blood
There’s no alibi
‘Cause I’ve drawn regret
From the truth
Of a thousand lies

So let mercy come
And wash away…

What I’ve done
I’ll face myself
To cross out what I’ve become
Erase myself
And let go of what I’ve done

Put to rest
What you thought of me
While I clean this slate
With the hands
Of uncertainty

So let mercy come
And wash away…

What I’ve done
I’ll face myself
To cross out what I’ve become
Erase myself
And let go of what I’ve done

For What I’ve done

I’ll start again
And whatever pain may come
Today this ends
I’m forgiving what I’ve done

I’ll face myself
To cross out what I’ve become
Erase myself
And let go of what I’ve done
What I’ve done

Forgiving what I’ve done
